Alan
Petrucci, General Manager: How my vacation was ruined!! I forgot my sunglasses
(prescription). Prior to my departure to the Islands, I purchased a book call Jihad.
I began reading it on the airplane. Three days in the shade to avoid the glare.
Not much of a tan. Blown vacation due to a book! Excellent job!! Congrats on
this accomplishment. I look forward to the next!
Larry Wilson, Border's Books & Music: Jihad
by MacDonald Reid is the most exciting and hottest selling book of the season.
MacDonald Reid is an exciting and expert speaker, obviously an expert in
military matters.
John Pasakarnis, Engineer: It was all I could do to put Jihad
down once I started reading it. As I progressed thru the story I was torn
between needing to know what was going to happen and regretting how fast I was
going thru the book. I look forward to your future works. PS. I have
always enjoyed non-fictional historical books, but this is the first fictional
work that I really liked. I look forward to reading this one again -
soon!
Donna Sell, Receptionist & Grandmother: "Jihad
is just fantastic! I bought one copy for my son and another for my
granddaughter. I even bought a copy for one of the fellows here at work. He was
going to Europe on his honeymoon, and he wanted something to do. You know ... to
read on long plane trip and stuff!
Karl Andre, Mold Designer: Damned book! Once I started reading Jihad,
I couldn't put it down. I lost sleep four nights straight! When's the
next one coming out? I'll plan my vacation around it so that I'll have the time
to read it without interfering with my work.
Ron Gould, US Navy (ret.), Computer Expert: Jihad
was like reliving my years in the US Navy. Reid's descriptions of the CIC,
shipboard routine, naval maneuvers and combat are incredible. Jihad
is even better than Red October
in its insightful details of military equipment. Reid has either spent 30 years
in the armed forces or is the greatest military expert I know.
Gary Krupka, Educator & Business Consultant: Jihad
is the most entertaining seven bucks I've spent in decades! The logical
premises are right out of today's newspapers. The political situations and their
consequences are all too real. The military strategy is superb. The results are
logical and compelling. It's a great story!
Roy Robertson, US Navy (ret.), Engineering Consultant: Reid
is obviously an expert. The portrayals of military life in Jihad
could only have been written by someone who'd been there and done that. It's
great!
Major Gene Brady, US Army (ret.): Jihad by MacDonald Reid is a grunt's story. The scenarios are
very real, and the battle scenes are very good. The characters in Jihad are
great ... I've met all of them. I recommend this book to anyone who wants
to know what war is really like without having to live through it.
Holly Trueblood, Senior Executive & Author: The scope of Jihad
by MacDonald Reid is huge. The characters are clearly defined and interesting.
The political, social and military interactions are wonderfully complex, leading
to unexpected yet, in hindsight, obvious consequences. There's plenty of
technical detail, fulfilling the reader's need for information on the hows and
whys, yet never getting in the way of the story. Filled with unexpected
humor, Jihad is a thriller packed with meat, not just techno-thriller.
For a first time author, Reid did everything right.
Dr. P. Anderson, Senior Executive & Engineer: Jihad
by MacDonald Reid is enormous in its size and scope. Reid's characters are
strong and compelling. The military situations and tactics are realistic, the
action shifting rapidly and dramatically from one to another. The technology is
superb and innovative, complementing rather than detracting from the story. Reid
resolves Byzantine political and military complexities with consummate ease,
making the solutions seem obvious. Even if you're not "into"
techno-thrillers, I recommend Jihad. If you are, you'll love it!
Jeannette Toigo, Accountant & mother: Wow! What a great book! I
didn't think I'd like a book about war, but a friend of mine recommended Jihad
by MacDonald Reid. Now I'm a big fan. When is the sequel coming out?
Bill Sullivan, MIS: Great book! Jihad is a Celtic knot of intertwined stories of politics,
battle and heroism which could only be told by a modern bard. I look forward
to the next one.
Robert Elwood, Retired: Fantastic! I've never read a
more exciting book! Jihad
beats the pants off Clancy! When will Reid's next book be out?
